On Arctic forum results
VIII International forum «Arctic: today and the future» took place in St. Petersburg from 5 till 7 of December. The leading experts of JSC «Concern «Granit-Electron» participated in business and exhibition programs with proposals for development of Arctic zone of the Russian Federation.
One of the front event of the forum was a high-profile conference «The Northern Sea Route» with the participation of Vice-Governor of St. Petersburg Mikhail Kucheryavy, who oversees the issues of Arctic development, the tops of profile ministries and institutes and the representatives of Russian business, interested in the formation of Northern Sea Route (NSR) strategy.
On the conference the first deputy General Director on science issues professor Y. F. Podoplekin presented a report «The creation of modern information systems for providing the ship’s safety and target designation in Arctic zone». The report was presented on panel session «NSR management system and ensuring navigation safety under the arctic condition». The report revealed Concern’s R&D solution regarding ground based radars and UAVs for Arctic zone application.
This presentation attracted the most interest of the Russian Geographical society with a scientific approach.
At this point, ice-monitoring system «Delta», presented by JSC «Concern «Granit-Electron» and its subsidiary JSC «Rawenstvo» at St. Petersburg government’s integrated exhibition stand, is an obvious example of special electronics and science&engineering technology.
«Delta», designed for observation and estimation of the parameters of ice floe, greatly improves visualization of all required ice characteristics.
JCS «Concern «Granit-Electron» is ready to implement its comprehensive innovative program to expand the development of Arctic zone, ensuring North Sea Route navigation safety, for maritime, shelf and continental infrastructure objects protection, for emergency prevention.
